UPDATE: Can You Spell D.E.I.?

Cell Phone Photograph of Example of Persuasive Writing by York High Teacher

The parent that submitted this item is mistaken.  Her child is actually the author of the 3rd column (in white) and not the teacher.  YCFoia sincerely apologizes to Mrs. Spohn and the YCSD for this misinformation.  Our due-diligence needs some due-diligence.

So, 9th grade english teacher at York High School, Maggie Spohn feels this is the best example of good persuasive writing.  REALLY?

Let’s grade her example. D-

This “persuasive writing” example expresses concerns about how dress codes can unfairly target minority students but fails to provide evidence or reasoned argumentation to support its claims. It calls for the elimination of dress codes without considering potential benefits or alternative viewpoints, relying heavily on emotive language rather than substantive analysis. Overall, it lacks coherence and balance, diminishing its persuasiveness.

So, it’s really not very persuasive witing, but that doesn’t matter because the content of the article is the real message she wants to send to her students. The term ‘minority’ has been hijacked by the term ‘diversity’ in the current venacular.  She’s obviously all for the diversity movement.  Next in line are ‘Equity’ and ‘Inclusion’ which are next in this line  of reasoning.  Bring on the boys in their tight little skirts, send them to the girl’s bathrooms and by all means, let them play soccer against the girls.  Nothing indoctrinating there, nope. No no, it’s all about diversity, equity and inclusivity.

Don’t push your socialist, communist agenda on our children!

  1. You want to call out people by name on your page.  How about you sign your articles.  You want to be all about something then stand behind it.   Don’t hide in the bushes spreading lies and false information.  These teachers are being pushed past the limits.  The kids these days need an attitude adjustment.  They think if they don’t like something or don’t want to do it they can just say or do what ever they want.  This starts with you the parents.  Teach your children to be respectful.  Teach you children that sometimes life sucks and you just have to get through it.  Do not Teach them to cry and whine till they get their way.  No I am not a socialist or communist.  I am a registered republican that grew up in York county.  Seaford to be exact.  I own firearms and I believe in the constitution of this country.  So if you have a problem with it come talk to me.
