Sheriff’s Office Grand Opening and Tour

What an incredible milestone! After a considerable wait, the unveiling of the new York County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) is truly a reason to celebrate. It’s nice to see our tax dollars put to such effective use. The YCSO is a technological marvel revealing the diligent planning and investment that made this place a reality.

This new facility offers our deputies more than just a workspace; it provides them with essential amenities that will enhance their well-being and effectiveness. With spacious accommodations, a fully-equipped gym, a secure evidence room,  ample room for professional development and so much more, our law enforcement personnel now have the environment they can grow and thrive in and they so deserve it.

During our tour, my husband and I had the opportunity to witness one of the deputies honing his marksmanship skills in one of the training rooms.

Sheriff Montgomery extends a warm invitation to the public to experience this impressive new facility firsthand. Visiting the YCSO is not just a simple tour; it’s an eye-opening experience that showcases the dedication to excellence and innovation within our sheriff’s office. I recommend you come see for yourself the advancements and capabilities that our law enforcement have at their disposal.

From the precision of marksmanship training to the cutting-edge technology integrated into every aspect of the facility, we were very impressed.  Sheriff Montgomery’s enthusiasm for sharing this space with the public is a testimony to his commitment to transparency and engagement.

My husband and I extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the realization of this facility. It’s through the collective effort and vision of many that such a remarkable workspace has come into existence. To all at the YCSO we wish you a future filled with continued success and safety for York County and Poquoson in your new facility.

Special thanks to Michelle Charles, our tour guide, Brian Harmon, Sheriff Montgomery,  Major Thomas West, and Sandra for taking time out of your very busy schedules to talk to us as we toured the facility.
